This is a collaborative project where I wrote a project-based lesson plan with Elinor Hannum, Brittani Havenaar, and Ashley Taglauer. The project taught area and perimeter by having students plan their own field day layout. This provided a real world problem that allowed the students to explore area and perimeter. I later did a lesson study using video and surveys from the lesson. My focus in the lesson study was on student roles within a group and student self-selection of roles within a group. You can read the analysis below.
