Artifact 8: Field Day Lesson Plan & Lesson Study


Primary Alignment:

Standard 1: The lesson is crafted to give students a math task that matters to them. Additionally, the lesson study considers perceived status in math group tasks.

Standard 2: The lesson focuses on presenting a constructivist model of geometry principles.

Standard 6: The lesson plan was created with a group of three other students. The lesson was taught and recorded by on the group members, with each member focusing on their own research questions and writing their own conclusions.

Goal 3: The lesson shows how teachers can work together to create a better lesson plan, and can work in a mutually respectful way in order to study and improve as individuals.

Secondary Alignment:

Standard 3: Managing perceived status in group work situations is challenging for teachers.
