This is My Story
My fascination with learning actually began while studying to be a jazz bass player at University of New Orleans and the New England Conservatory of Music. I had the great fortune of studying with some truly wonderful teachers and through this experience became obsessed with the following question: How do people learn complex things to a level of mastery which allows them to truly apply their learning in service of their own goals? Beginning with my music students, I pursued this question in a variety of contexts- everything from teaching coding to middle schoolers to veterinary medicine courses for doctoral candidates. I eventually went back to school and earned an M.A. in Teaching and Curriculum and a Education Technology Certificate at Michigan State.
Here’s Some Personal Stuff
I now live in Austin, and when I’m not working can be found exploring the city’s many record stores and delicious food trucks.
